Hello my gorgeous friends, I hope we’re all enjoying the crispy cozy fall weather and finding happy balances in all areas of life. I recently welcomed the crows back to the city of Troy, got my vegetable garden beds covered for the winter, I’ve been practicing leather tooling and dabbling in watercolor and I was in this video about my partner Jeff’s tiny house.
I wanted to let the capital region folks know about two very cool shows we have on the books.
This Friday, October 16, we’re doing a straight-up full-band rock&roll show at Ophelia’s in Albany with two of our 518 favorites: The Greetings and Sabrina Trueheart & Crimson Retro. Doors at 7, music at 8.
I first saw The Greetings at No Fun a few months ago and have wanted to play with them ever since. They’re a classic power-trio lineup, with a lead singer playing bass which obviously I love. He doesn’t hold back on either instrument.
Sabrina Trueheart, of course, will be on double-duty for this one since she’s become a pretty integral part of The Belle Curves when she’s not fronting her project. She’s actually on tour right now with icon Nick Balzano behind the kit. Love to see the cross pollination!! What a dream team! Sabrina has really honed her full-band sound over the past year and it’s always a treat to see her being a real-life rock star.
I’ve heard Ophelia’s has great food too, this is gonna be good one :) we’re on first so don’t be late
On Saturday, October 24, Jeff and I will be part of the 4th annual “Ooky Spooky Musical Showcase” at the Troy Music Hall. This is kind of a big deal, and I have to admit I’m a little intimidated by the idea of playing on what is purportedly one of the best acoustical spaces in the country. The show is organized by local legends Zan & The Winter Folk, and local legends is exactly the theme of the night. Each songwriter or group has been tasked with writing a new song based on an old news story related to something creepy, scary, spooky, or strange that happened in the area. We went with strange, and that’s all I’ll tell you for now.
That’s all for now, this winter will probably be a little quieter around here but I want to get on the road again in 2027 so if you want to host a house show, share a bill, or just remind me to come back to your area, email me! let’s chat. We’ll come play as a sweet acoustic duo, an intimate folksy trio, or rock your socks as a full band. We got options.

PS our WEXT Fest set ended up being a little different than we had planned, but we pivoted (I borrowed an upright bass) and it turns out someone captured the whole thing and put it on youtube! If that person happens to be on this newsletter, thanks! Check it out -
